Happy to have another short story published in fourW New Writing. It’s the fifth time I’ve had work published in this excellent annual anthology out of Charles Sturt Uni in Wagga. I share the honour with a lot of other Australian writers but I’d especially like to congratulate writerly-friends Ivy Alvarez, Rory Harris, Jill Jones, Jules Leigh Koch, Ron Pretty, Graham Rowlands, Les Wicks and perennial editor David Gilbey.

It was an honour for Maggie Ball & I to have our collaborative poem radiology accepted for The Medical Journal of Australia earlier this year. It was even more of a surprise when we were asked if it could be included in Best Australian Science Writing 2016!

This is a very accessible collection of science journalism (certainly enjoyable for the average moderately-intelligent layperson like me) and we were especially gratified that editor Jo Chandler saw fit to include some poetry as well.

I’m very happy to have a prose-poem crabbing from james well to rogues point published in Rabbit (a journal for non-fiction poetry.) I’m honoured to share this edition with Ouyang Yu, Kathryn Hummel, MTC Cronin, Julie Maclean, Susan Hawthorne and a heap of other accomplished Australian poets.
