Yellow Peril

Based on my poem Xanthophobia (the fear of yellow) from my Picaro Press chapbook phobiaphobia (2008).

Thanks to Official Nc Fx from Montreal, Canada for the great music. This was my first effort on ccMixter and I couldn’t have been happier Nc Fx’s remix. Merci – c’est fantastique!

Xanthophobia / Yellow peril

bleaching my teeth daily i yearn
for the grey day

afraid of the stripe down my spine
a cowardy-custard

disgusted by my own bile
poke out the eyes
of fried eggs

see summer suns as pus
drink copiously to keep my stream
of urine clear

send the canary down the adit

we don’t want it back
