I was given Kirk Anderson (Kirkoid) as the artist to mix. I used Kirkoid\u2019s <em>Big Phat 80s Synth mix<\/em> of Kara Square\u2019s Consumer Whore\u00a0and remixed it with my poem <em>re:mote observer<\/em>. The contrast between my very detached\u00a0<em>re: Mote Observer<\/em>\u00a0and Kara\u2019s\u00a0<em>Consumer Whore<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a desperate and very well crafted rant about the guilt associated with excessive consumption \u2013 produced a bipolar mix which I hope reflects the constant emotional ambivalence associated with just \u201cbuying stuff.\u201d<br \/>\nI went back to Kara\u2019s original samples and used snatches of them before building up to Kirkoid\u2019s Big Phat production. Thanks to both Kirkoid and Kara for such fine material to work with!<\/div>\n<div class=\"dig-logo\">\n<p><strong>Re: Mote Observer<\/strong> *<\/p>\n<p>wandering a shopping mall<br \/>\npurposeful<br \/>\nas motes of dust in sunlit shafts<\/p>\n<p>the young here to be seen<br \/>\nto wrap their nakedness<br \/>\nin this months\u2019 social skin<\/p>\n<p>the aged to complain how much<br \/>\nhas changed<br \/>\nsince last they came<\/p>\n<p>old man clothed<br \/>\nin grey and dirt<br \/>\nharvests empty cans<\/p>\n<p>my needs are met<br \/>\nmy stomach full,<br \/>\nno one to impress<\/p>\n<p>just<br \/>\nremote<br \/>\nobserver<br \/>\nstatus\u2026<\/p>\n<p>* Originally written around 2003-4.
