\"knee-replacement-1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Apart from my last post this poor blog has been much neglected for almost six months. I\u2019ve continued to write and publish but I\u2019ve been distracted and obsessed by painful osteo-arthritis in my knees. This culminated in the total artificial replacement of my left knee six weeks ago. I\u2019m hoping that the worst has passed! So over the next few months I\u2019ll let anyone out there know about my recent literary output.(Or struggles. Or lack of output.)<\/p>\n

Please feel free to comment so I know I\u2019m not talking to myself.<\/p>\n

Perhaps this is relevant: ‘my poetry blog<\/em>‘ was published in the November 2014 edition of Red River Review (US.) The February edition had my friend David Ad\u00e9s \u2013 another longtime Friendly Street colleague \u2013 as Featured Poet.<\/p>\n

cataloguing my emotions<\/h5>\n
enumerating my musings<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n

is it any nobler than the facebook bore<\/h5>\n
who tells me he\u2019s finished his coffee<\/h5>\n
and he\u2019s off to go grocery shopping?<\/h5>\n

as if anyone cares.<\/h5>\n
as if anyone\u2019s listening.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n

perhaps we should eliminate the details,<\/h5>\n
write minimalist poetry – revert to a synopsis<\/h5>\n
of narrative plot structure:<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n

 <\/p>\n

i was born.<\/h5>\n
one day I died.<\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n

 <\/p>\n

in the interim<\/h5>\n
i did some<\/h5>\n
stuff.<\/h5>\n
