I&#8217;ve been visiting the peninsula regularly for over 40 years &amp; this is the latest of many attempts to encapsulate its diversity in text.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Yorke Peninsula<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>lime green paddocks of barley wave to the edge<\/p>\n<p>of cliffs and scalloped bays<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>landlocked islands of high-vis canola<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>waving microforests of seagrass in shallows,<\/p>\n<p>a glassysea reflecting a cloudy sky<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>cursive scribbles of squid ink on jetty planks<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>crumbling limestone cliffs recycled as<\/p>\n<p>institutes, general stores and hotels<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>copper bleeding up from magma<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Just finished a poem I began in September last year.
