After getting down our\u00a0 own work we each recorded a couple of poems by our late friend John Pfitzner whose posthumous collection\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/indaily.com.au\/arts-and-culture\/2013\/12\/11\/john-pfitzner-voices-fire\/\">Voices from the Fire<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">was\u00a0 launched a week ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last night I got along to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/515519891888308\/permalink\/520028371437460\/\">Word Box<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">at the Soul Box in Hindley St, Adelaide to see guest poets Loren Steinberg and Priya Malik (both of whom were brilliant!) and other local talent in the open mike section. I did <\/span><em style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">I think the worst is over now<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\"> and <\/span><em style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">a clarity of smog<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\"> (which I was also happy to learn this week has been accepted for the next <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foame.org\/\">foam:e<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">this coming March.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This week I\u2019ve been enjoying Rachael Mead\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/varunathewritershouse.wordpress.com\/2011\/10\/07\/writer-a-day-rachael-mead-reading-from-the-sixth-creek\/\">The Sixth Creek<\/a>\u00a0,\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Peter Macrow\u2019s latest Blue Giraffe which includes a poem by Amelia Walker dedicated to Lyn &amp; me \u2013 (a big surprise!) and Friendly Street\u2019s anthology <a href=\"http:\/\/trove.nla.gov.au\/work\/182690207?selectedversion=NBD51748979\">Patterns of Living<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">which I missed last year in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also uploaded <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ccmixter.org\/files\/robwalkerpoet\/44433\">Looking up<\/a><\/em> to ccmixter&#8217;s Christmas mix.
